Ctrl+Drag Copy Event UPWARDS!!

Well, this is the one I've kept in my "illogical" folder for sometime now.

We can:

1/- Insert New Track - and that appears AT Track 1 - not above the track I'm working on . . ok ..

2/- I can Ctrl+Drag and this will Copy an Event to a NEW track below - cool! But only to OR below Track1

Soooo.....

Why not have the option to Ctrl+Drag Event UPWARDS?

Above Track 1!

I mean this, 'cos how often have you wanted to place a copy OR just move and Event NORTH-wards - above an existing Track 1? Yes, I know, I could INSERT Track and bosh! But supposing I'm on track 6, I have an Event that I DO want to promote to a new T1, I have to STOP what I'm thinking about, Insert a New Track, then go back to the Event and use one of the methods to move the Event to the new T1. How easy and really neat & logical would it be to be able to just Ctrl+Drag Event(for Copy) OR just Drag (Move to a newly automated-inserted Track1)? I think so ..

Grazie

I'd think this one through very carefully first. I too have been slightly annoyed by the same thing but there's another issue. Say you ctl+drag the video track of a A/V pair. What's not immediatley obvious is you're copying both the video and audio track unless you disable event grouping.
I have to wonder if some of the wierd problems people have reported might not be due to them inadvertently having two copies of the video event on the one track.
