Did Anyone have experience with the following Custom PC?. I wanted to built a new PC. The base price seems higher for my budget. Before I make my mind I wanted to know any have good experience with this.
i built an i7/920 6gb, giga u3dr mb, 2xsata 150gb hd nvidia 9600 gt for under $1.5k (AU)i
what you're looking at seems expensive.
i'm not sure (though i stand to be corrected) that buying the most powerful cpu / vid card is necessarily the best investment. with the obsolescence factor of pc's these days, buying wisely means you can upgrade when the relevant 'high end' items price drops to an affordable one.
i look to my equipment to make me money, not intel or any other supplier.
if, however, you have a clientele who are paying you professional rates - then it's not necessarily 'umph' that matters so much as reliability / stability - both of which are going to cost you dearly anyway.....
Great Leslie, I am glad you had this half price of what I have seen. Can you please email me the details of your specs and the place you brought. or may be you can post it here itself.

i had the system put together by racar computers in scone, nsw, australia. never heard of them? i'm not surprised ;-) it's a little computer shop (with a very knowledgeable owner). i'm sure you have one in your locality! i gave up years ago with the 'big' names in pc's. this way i have a good working relationship with a local supplier who knows that i know i can just as easily buy on the net, but prefer to support his business.... i think i paid around $100 more than the 'average' lowest cost on the net (not counting ebay - where i wouldn't dream of buying a work pc!). the extra $100 was well worth it in just telephone support for 'problems' in no way connected with the hardware
