Cut & Paste across projects

Sorry if this is obvious! I am a newby to the forum.

I have produced three videos making use of VMSP8 and I love it.
I now have an introduction style & format I would like to reuse on each new project. I have cut it from the final version of the Project I was editing, and I would now like to insert paste the introduction into thenew project is there a simple way?

There are things I would like to see to make my life easyier. A list of all clips & music filenames in text format which can be printed I found I reused a few clips and It would be easy to spot on a play list.

Thanks for any help

Vegas clears the clipboard when you close one project and open another. The way around this is to have two instances of Vegas running simultaneously, one with the original project and one with the new project. Then you can copy & paste from one instance to another.

In the Project Media tab you can set the view to Details. This will show a spreadsheet of all the media used in the project. You can highlight this, then copy & paste it into Excel or Word for printing.

Another way is to render the intro in the quality you want to end up with .. for instance mpg2 DVD quality .. then you can take THAT file and re-use it for intros as many times as you wish.

This is what I do for my cable access / and web TV show.

Chienworks, you mention that the 'Details' display format for project media can be copied & pasted into a spreadsheet app such as Excel. While it does indeed resemble a spreadsheet layout, I cannot find an option or method which allows me to actually copy it. Can you help please?

I've never actually tried it, but i've read reports of others in this forum doing it regularly. Maybe highlight and Ctrl-C?

No, Ctrl + C doesn't do it I'm afraid.
If it is possible though it would be very useful for keeping project records. The 'Details' layout is exactly as a spreadsheet so the basic formating appears to be there and we can assume the programmers wouldn't have given it that feature without good reason. Here's hoping for some enlightenment...
