When watching movies, often the sound for a scene starts a second or so before the video for that scene. I was trying to achieve this effect, but I found that if I moved the sound start point with my mouse, the video moved too.

How is this done?

Select "Ignore Event Grouping" - the button looks like 2 strips of film with a padlock.

You could also select the audio and video and press "U" for ungroup.
