Depends on the video type. Womble can cut & paste MPEG and MPEG-type videos without rerendering. Vegas has some limited success with MPEG, but not much.

Vegas can copy parts of uncompressed AVI and DV AVI to new files without decompress/recompress, so it's a lossless copy.

I believe Microsoft has a tool that can do this for WMV files.

If this is a follow-up to your other thread then yes you have to render again.

A little more detail would be helpful though.

Not sure what more detail you need? I want to cut a existing video shorter....do I need to re-render it or is there a export feature?

I am obviously not a video expert just looking for help.
