Fotis,

For that to be changed, they have to go in and make all the UI of all the plugs change rather than having it read off of the Standard UI interface of Windows. That's why Explorer doesn't have it either I'm guessing.

So while it's maybe not overly difficult, I can't say for sure, and with all those plugs, I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it's going to be time consuming.

Yeah, I noticed this too. It's annoying, because as soon as you start applying effects, the old bright color scheme is right back blasting you in the eye. Hopefully this will be fixed by the time 9.0a is released.

I must say I like the new layout - with a light grey colour inside the darker plug-in window.

I searched & searched battling trying to make mine have the White/Light color inside the darker plug-in window... but could NOT reproduce.
- Then I remembered that my Windows UI is set to be a bit Darker so my White/Light color inside the darker plug-in window is just as Grey/Dark as the rest of Vegas.

Those of you that still don't like the Vegas UI should check out WindowBlinds. I never noticed a performance hit.
I used to use it religiously to make my Vegas UI Grey/Dark.
Then again... you can go into your Windows settings and make those parts Grey/Dark and your Vegas UI will be Dark/Grey (or whatever color you set) always.

I wish SCS would have gone a step further and made it same as Premiere were you have the slider that will go from Lighter to Darker... allowing you to dial in your preferred Lightness/Darkness.

VP9 still looks so Windows 2000 to me though as compared to the others.
Maybe I just like 'Bling', Rounded Corners, Bevels, & Depth?

People will seem to usually pick the Pretty Car over the Fast Car... as they are doing in the NLE world. Thanks SCS for the Prettier Paint Job but man; my Fast VP9 Car still needs a UI Facelift. Maybe VP10?

I use Vista 64 with Vegas 8. In Vista, just modify the High Contrast desktop theme so that it's to your liking, save it with a useful name (Dark UI, for example), then search for files of that name.

Once found, drag a shortcut on the the Quick launch bar (or wherever), and you'll have a nice quick button that allow you to give Vegas a darker interface. ake sure Vegas is set to use XP themes.

Create another button to switch back to your usual theme.

Works a treat.
