i have a dds3 scsi internal tape drive. is there anyway that i can output to the device from the timeline. vegas cannot see the drive. i would like to convert the drive to firewire or usb 2.0. if anyone knows where i can get an external box to do this please let me know. Thanks.

I think a big concern will be data transfer rate. DV needs about 30Mbps / 3.75MBps stream. I doubt the tape drive can keep up with that. It can be used for archiving DV files, but you probably won't be able to use it as a drive when capturing or printing to tape.
