De activated the software but Error Code14 won't allow me to activate

Used Vegas Studio 15 about 3 years ago and stopped using it due to a Windows 10 Pro update. I have just put it in again from DVD's purchased from Magix in Germany. Also put in 2 updates which I had saved carefully.Another update came in so allowed that as well. I was told that it had activated. I added the Vegas DVD Architect program. This was all on the 29th May 2021.

I wanted to start using it tonight (31st May 2021) but it wanted activating again and got the Error Code 14. I went to the Service Centre which shows the Serial Number but no activations are in use. Do I have to remove the program from the PC and put it in again.?

Is it possible you are using a different email address?

Hi Eric,

Thank you for replying. I have been using the same email address since 2012. It's a complete mystery so I think I will have to take out everything, put it all back and see if it works. If it does'nt I shall go back to Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus.

A strange one.

Try a "factory reset". Instructions below. It applies to VMS not just Pro. Make sure you tick the box to clear the cache.

It probably won't help but might clear out anything causing problems.

On 31 May what exactly happened? When opening did VMS present you with a window requesting activation. Was your email address and serial number shown so you merely had to click on without typing in anything?

Thank you Eric, I have attempted to reply 3 times and my internet connection dropped which was very frustrating.I will have another go. Yes it was just as you said, Dialog Box all filled in with email and 30 digit acticvation code. Then when I clicked to activate I had Error Code 14. I will try your reset suggestion above and let you know how I got on one way or the other. Thank you.

Hi Eric, I had a go at your factory reset but the same dialog box simply came up all duly filled in but gave me the Error Code 14 when I attempted to Activate it. I have removed Vegas Studio 15 and may try the download from the Magix site.to put it back but I have quite a bit of still photo work to do now so it won't get done for a bit. I am in Caldicot & District U3A. I know you have U3A's in New Zealand so I expect you know what I am talking about. Today was our 25th +1 year Anniversary (Covid stopped us celebrating last year) and I was the official photographer so have taken a lot of pictures all in the rain. I am also the Webmaster for our website so when I have got them all sorted I have to put them on the web.
