"Dead" Zone

Just finished my first video project - 33 minutes long - shouldn't have bit off so much!
Very pleased with the results except one thing: Some of the stills were "cropped" during rendering.
I'd say about 10% of the area around some frames were removed. On some pics it was actually better, but on a few that had text near the borders, the text was partially chopped off the screen.
Question: How can I prepare for this on my next project? Can I estimate that 10% of the border will be removed during rendering or is there a more scientific way to do it? Thanks!!

Use the crop/pan feature. Click on the FX button on the timeline for the event you wish to modify. This is a powerful feature of VF.

With a little practice you can also automate pan and zoom, very similar to what you can do with a video camera... and forgot to make part of your scene. This effect can be very powerful for a slideshow to give "still" images life.

Verson 2 of VF comes with a "show me" feature that provides a tutorial for many of the application's features.

Are you referring to viewing your project on a television? You should see
the entire image on the computer screen, but it will be cropped on a TV.
This is because televisions display the image larger than the visible
area of the screen (called overscan) to allow for the picture shrinking
with age. You just have to keep it in mind and accomodate it if your
final destination is a television screen.

In the text media generator in Video Factory 2.0 you will see a dashed
rectangle drawn in the placement screen that represents the "safe area"
that will be visible on a television screen. Some screens may show more
than this area, but keeping inside it will work on all screens.

Yes, this is exactly what I referred to in my original topic. Thank you. Wish I would have known about this before I made my video! I'll know next time.
