In V22 it decodes the audio as 1 stream with 4 channels so that I can e.g. choose the combination "Channels 1/2" etc.

But in V23 it works in a contrary way which I loose the chance to combine:

I find decoding in 1 stream with channels more logical and practical.

Thoughts?

@Yelandkeil

When I loaded a GH6 clip I get the same options for VP22 and VP23, but not the same as your screenshots.

In VP22 and VP23 when I select Stream then I get .. Stream 1, Stream 2, Stream 3, Stream 4, (not greyed out)

In VP22 and VP23 when I select Channels then I get .. Both, Left only, Right only, Combine, Swap, (greyed out)

I didn't understand you quite:

In V22 there's only one stream including 4 channels while in V23 there're four streams, no channel or combination.

My footage is AVC/PCM in MOV container.
I downloaded your footage and see it's exact the same construction as mine.

In V22 the decoder is so4compoundplug.dll

I haven't made my footage available. Mediainfo of most of it's above. It's a 7 second hevc clip from GH6 shot in 2022.

@Yelandkeil

In your 1st. Screenshot you are selecting channels and in the 2nd. screenshot you are selecting streams, is that the cause of confusion?

Anyway. I checked my GH6 hevc clip in both VP22 and VP23.

They both report the same when checking out the audio properties in VP.

That is 4 audio streams, 1 audio channel per stream. Same for VP22 and VP23.
