Default Mixer Settings in Vegas question

I just had to uninstall and reinstall Vegas and noticed after rendering my new project that the mixer was set to 44.1 hz. Then I checked and the project properties were set to 44.1 as well. The audio was recorded in camera at 48 hz and I did add some music from a few cds (which is 44.1 unless I'm wrong). I'm rendering to an avi for printing to mini dv tape. Is there any reason not to have the settings at 48 hz? I had to do a lot of audio fixing and I'd like to keep any quality that I can.
Thanks for any help!

Since Vegas had it's roots as an audio editing program when the typical best commercial quality was 44.1KHz that's why the sampling rate defaults to that value. There is no problem changnig it to 48KHz or any other value for that matter. In fact, it probably doesn't even matter except for previewing. When you render Vegas will use whatever sampling rate is specified in the rendering template rather than the project rate. So, even though the project rate defaults to 44.1KHz the audio is rendered at 48KHz when you output to DV.
