Default Save Location for Projects

VMS 9.0b with Windows 7:

My laptop has two hard drives, and when I first installed VMS, I changed the default save location for projects to save somewhere other than the C: drive.

I recently reinstalled VMS on the same laptop, and the default save location has changed back to the C: drive. I want to change the default location to save projects as I did before...except this time I can't figure out for the life of me how I changed it previously and it's driving me nuts!

I have gone through every menu item and option item and I can't find anything other than changing the pre-render cache, etc, which I don't care about.

So, how did I change the default save location for projects? Thanks in advance!

I've never paid attention to the default save location. For me, part of starting a new project is to explicitly create a new folder where i want it to be and then save to that folder. It doesn't matter to me where Vegas prompts for saving; i'm going to be changing to the new project folder location anyway. Having a default location would be of no use to me.

That being said, older versions of Vegas seemed pretty good at least starting out in the last location i used, which was often very close to the new folder i'm creating. Newer versions seem to always want to go back to the My Documents folder. I deal with this by just clicking the My Computer icon, then the drive letter i want, which gets me pretty close, and then browsing from there.

I've heard rumors that newer versions of Windows encourage software to follow this preference for starting in My Documents, but i have no evidence that this is so.
