DeFlicker Plugin?

Hi all,

Has anyone found a "deflicker" plugin for Vegas Pro? I looked in the archives, and with one exception the posts all go back to 2014 and earlier. Wondering if something new has come on the market.

There is one I've found, being sold by Digital Anarchy, but I felt the price was somewhat high ($150) and it didn't work that well either. Hopefully, I won't need this plugin that often. I'm just trying to fix a batch of clips from one trip to Asia, where some LED's caused some problems.

I tried the technique of doing a layer and offsetting 1 frame, and putting both clips at 50%, but that did seem to work.

Any suggestions of a less expensive plugin? I'd prefer to do this with a plugin, instead of a whole series of steps for each clip.

Thank you.

One which works fine for me in many cases is SeMW Graide Color Match. Its primary purpose is bit different but it also does a good deflicker job if there is not too much change in the scene (like pans).

Hi Marco. Thank you. I couldn't get SeMW to do the job, though I do need to experiment with it a bit more. Perhaps it is user error. However, your post gave me an idea. There were 3 short clips that were "major offenders." And there was virtually no movement in them. So I did a frame grab, substituted the video clip with the still frame, and introduced some motion into the still frame. And life got better.

In another project, from the same LED area, there is movement in the frame, so I will have to do some further research and experimentation. But your inspiration got me over this immediate hump. Again, thank you!

The way to deflicker with Graide Color Match is to pick an input frame of the scene which color & lighting is fine
and then set the mode of Graide Color Match to "Continuous". This way each frame will be corrected
to match the reference frame.

I don't have a flickering scene available here otherway I maybe could demo.

That helps. I'll try it again. The instructions that came with it were kinda' sparse.
