the poster wanted a way to avoid accidentally deleting a track, thinking it was empty, when in fact it contained events that were outside the viewable area because of the track zoom settings.
I then wrote a script, which I posted here:
Script to generate Warning Message ...
which temporarily adds a bright red event to all the blank sections of the track, counts the number of events on that track, and then asks the user if they want to completely delete the track.
If you are really paranoid about accidentally deleting a track, then this script is for you.
