Deleting Plugins - Need to delete 'empty' fx groups from 'menu'

Thomas-Monks wrote on 3/11/2022, 1:59 AM

Hi Folks,

Ok I successfully deleted a bunch of non-paid Boris effects...actually all of them...and am ready to reinstall the small section which I have paid for. The problem is that I have tons of empty leftover fx directories in my list and that just bugs me. Please tell me how I can edit this list to get rid of empty groups of fx. Thanks !

Please have a look at BorisFX's tutorial on installing BCC on Vegas Pro 19: . 01:33 onwards looks at how to install only licensed Units - but it will probably be worthwwhile to watch the whole video - it's only 03:10 long.

If this doesn't work because of how you did the deletion (the FX menu items are probably still coded in the registry), you might have to uninstall from Windows Apps & Features and then install again.

Uninstall using a third-party uninstaller like 'Revo Uninstall' that can remove left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind, which is usually the root of recurring issues
Revo Uninstall has pro and freeware versions, the free version is usually adequate in most cases unless a 'forced uninstall' is needed which is a pro option. Use the 'advanced' scan mode after it uninstalls but beware of deleting shared data if there is other Magix software installed.

Thanks Everybody !

Yep, it figures...registry and nothing in Vegas. Since my system mechanic expired and I used the free version of IOBit uninstaller, I paid $20 for the combopack Pro Uninstaller and their system mechanic. I am certain that after the lengthy system fix is finished, it will fix it. If it's still there, I can always reinstall Boris then uninstall using my new Pro version of software... Hey my system needed a lot of fixing anyway. My sincere THANKS to all !

@Thomas-Monks Hi, i uninstalled all my NewBlue plugins & deleted all in C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0 but still had remnants in Vegas fx,

i went to System - Storage - Temporary files & deleted everything, that removed the remnants.

I don't know if this will help but it's another way to purge waste.

Try deleting "svfx_plugin_cache.bin" and "plugin_manager_cache.bin" in "C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0", then restart your Vegas.

RESOLVED !!! Thank You
