Delta 44 driver update prob-help!

Anyone care to guess why when I reinstall my MAudio Delta 44 device and drivers it works, but when I go to their site, update the latest drivers that I get the following message when I try to launch the Delta Control Panel:

"Driver version is older than expected! Please install the latest driver"

I'm running this on my Win 98SE setup, and had the same issue last time I did a fdisk/clean reinstall. I wound up just reloading the driver from the old installation disk, but there's got to be something I'm doing wrong. This is driving my nuckin' futs!!

Your probably not doing ANYTHING wrong. This is the kind of crap that Maudio is famous for – in fact they are known for their driver problems as much as the quality of their gear (which is good stuff if you can get it working and stable). Stay with the older driver if its working and turn off any automatic update notices. With Maudio drivers, the latest does not mean better. Personally I'd go with an Echo card. You will NEVER experience this kind of thing.

drbam - that is exactly what I just did - reinstalled the old driver from the disk and now it works. Echo Layla on the Christmas wish list. I just tapped myself out with a new CDR-W/DVD-R (replacing my Microboards 4X SCSI drive(!)), video card and upgrading CD Architect...Sheesh, you'd think I'm not the only one experiencing this driver issue with Midiman, but could not find any reference to it when I googled it.
