Delta 44 V.27 @ 16/48k crashes

I (and a friend too) get hard crashes using Delta 44's. We both have 4.0d, Delta v.27 drivers and are recording at 16bit / 48k. He has an HP 2.6 HT with XP SP1. I have a Dell P3 700 also XP SP1. Recording is ok, but stopping sometimes produces a fatal Vegas error, sometimes it is on playing, and more rarely when selecting / deselecting two or more record arm buttons on audio tracks.

Any ideas or similar experiences? Drivers v.29 any better?

okay, another approach...

Show of hands for those who have a 44 or 66 that uses .27 drivers with no issues?

The release notes for the .29 driver indicates that an ACID 4.0 fix was one of the things included in that release. You should probably install that driver first to see if it makes a difference.

I've had so many niggling problems with my 1010, the last month with it crackling and popping at random intervals on recorded takes and being a pain with any driver stability wise in Vegas 4.0D has made me decide to scrap it.

I've ordered an Apogee Rosetta 800 (8 in 8 out A/D D/A) and an Echo Layla to hook it up to and gain another 8 in 8 out.

Hopefully this'll fair better. (it better, it's a lotta money!)

I really push my system - I have three universal audio UAD1s! The Delta problems have not been solved by slot jumping, removing plugin cards, changing all drivers of everything and countless re-installs and reconfigurations. Sometimes it worked, if it felt like it. A lot of the time it didn't. Surely a computer should be... predictable?!
