Delta 66 LAGGING

I've been noticing a tremendous amount of lagging, popping, clicks, etc. during playback; even with single audio tracks! I gave up on listening to individual tracks, so I tried mixing everything down to one, and STILL had problems...it was a little better, but far from OK.

It plays back fine on my Soundblaster card, yet when I play through the Delta OmniStudio (Delta 66 card), I get all the crackles. I'm using WinXP Pro, with a 1.9Mhz P4 and 1GB RAM. I also have the latest drivers for the D66 (v. 36 I think), and am using Vegas 4.0e.

Any ideas?

A while ago I tried the latest version of the Delta WDM Series for my Audiophile. No matter what buffers I picked in the Control Panel, it kept on clicking and stuttering . I did a rollback to the .0029 WDM version and everything was fine again.

What I mean to say is,was your setup doing ok with an earlier version ? Maybe using an earlier version should work fine for you.Just an idea

I don't use an M-Audio card, but heinz3110 is right--there have been a lot of people reporting problems with the latest drivers. Try rolling back to the previous one and see if the problem goes away.

I bought an Echo Layla24 last fall based on a forum search; tons of problems reported with M-Audio drivers, none at all with Echo. I can get ridiculously low latencies and no glitches, even on my older P4-1.5GHz PC.
