Demo Installation

I've made the download of Vegas 2.0 demo and I'm required
to install DirectX 8.0 DV update. Having Dx8 already
installed, I take the Microsoft link, make the update
download, install the file and... nothing! My system is
updated but the Vegas installer doesn't recon the update.
From where should I start?...

Vegas 2.0d requires that you have Windows 98SE, Windows ME, WinNT 4.0, or Windows 2000 installed on your machine. Is it possible you are running the original release of Win98? DirectX 8 and the DV update will install on 98, but they do not detect correctly when you run the installer. Is this the cause of your trouble? If so, then you will need to upgrade to Win98SE or another supported operating system to use Vegas 2.0d.
