Deshaker Video Problem

jkraus wrote on 6/8/2009, 10:07 AM
Hi, I installed Deshaker script in Vegas 7 and 8. Both work great in that it goes through the whole script, making temporary video and inserting new video in its place, all works fine, but then it gets weird.

When I play the video in Vegas, it looks great. However, when I render it to Mainconcept MPEG2 the result is minus the video, only audio, and only for the portion that was "Deshook", teh rest of the video renders fine. So I find the file that was made in the Deshaker folder and play that, it looks fine, but when inserted into a Vegas time line and rendered, same problem. Very strange. Have tried this on both Vegas 7 and 8 on a Vista machine (32 bit OS) many times and same results.

BTW, the original file are .MOV files if that makes any difference, but I think I even tried it with .avi files

Any ideas?

Yea, I am having some similar problems. When it is deshaking, it adds another video track above orignal one. After my deshake process, the the top track disappears, and the video track left on the timeline says "media offline". I have been trying to get this thing working for a couple of weeks now, with no real success. Vegas Pro 8

If you're both using my updated script rather than the original then in the directory where Sony Vegas Pro is installed will be a file called "New Deshaker.log".

Email me the contents of this file and I'll take a look to see if there's anything odd with the settings.

IIRC Grazie, may have had this "offline" problem at first.

When it is deshaking, it adds another video track above orignal one. After my deshake process, the the top track disappears

That's intentional behaviour. The extra video track contains a copy of the event that is to be deshaken (and it is this event with the track solo'ed that is rendered out) and once done, this temporary video track is deleted.

I will check, but I am pretty sure I have the NewDeShaker

In any case the odd part is the new file is inserted in the time line in Vegas just fine. When I play it in Vegas, looks fine. When I render to MainConcept Mpeg 2 NTSC DVD Architect the portion that was "deshaken" is blank, only the audio works, but the other media on the original time line in Vegas render just fine fine so the result is and .mpg file that has some video, but just black background on the deshaken portion. Very strange

Is it only MPEG2 renders that don't work. What happens if you render to another format?

When I go to get video, in the "my documents/deshake" file, and I put that file on the timeline, all there is, is an audio file no video at all.

I just emailed mine also. Thanks Andy for checking this out. I have a wedding next weekend, and really need this to be working.

I am pretty sure I tried .wmv and .avi, and they did not work but since I made so many variable attempts, not 100%. Will try tonight
