Desicronization issue between audio and video after rendering a project

I suppose this question has allready been asked by somebody else, but I'm a newbie so please bear with me.
I have used Vegas Video to render a concert I recorded with my TV tuner. So far so good. I realized though that the picture needed some HSL adjustment/tweaking and I used the HSL Video FX/filter. The resulted immage is way better than the initial one, but now the audio and video tracks are no longer sinchronized (the delay is less than 2 seconds). I think I managed to repair this glitch, but I can't keep doing this with every video that needs a filter. It occurs only when I render a video file, using a filter/Video FX, and it doesn't appear to matter what codec I use (WMV 8 or DivX 4.12).
I have a Celeron processor @ 466 MHZ, 128 MB of PC133 SDRAM (@66MHZ), Quantum UDMA 66...
Is there anything I can do, software side, to prevent such desincronizations when applying a Video FX?

If you don't add any filters or FX at all and re-render to .wm, do you get a/v sync?

If I render the original captured file without any FX audio and video are in sync (in divx and wmv). The moment I apply the FX it gets out of sync.

have you noticed this with any particular filter?
