Desired Features

It would be really nice to provide automation support
(volume and pan) for the master bus, each Aux bus and
possibly the FX returns. This could be implemented in a
straightforward way by allowing the user to create a
new "track" for each of these and then add envelopes.
Maybe have them always at the bottom of the track list or
at the bottom in a split window.

Hey Brett -
I suggested this some time ago and thought it would be a
really nice visual automoation scheme. Add a Master Bus
track, say or a Bus A track on which one could add
envelopes to control effects over time. How about it guys?

good idea, ESPECIALLY if we could get some real hardware to
control and follow it

Installed DX8 and now audio does not play when previewing
on external monitor.

Make sure you use the NTSC DV template, no changes. Right
now you are most likey rendering uncompressed, which will
be huge.

The motu card you have is well known for having very
erratic behavior. There's nothing to do about it, because
Motu has traditionally ignored the issues relating to their
products not working under Windows. Return it. Even if they
say won't take it back, the threat of a lawsuit (at least
in the USA!) will soften their stance...

merry xmas!

Hi Pauly, our initial testing seems to be positive. Please
let us know if you run into anything funky...to select all
to the right, left click on a marker and then simply
Shift+Ctrl+right arrow to select to either the next marker
to end of project.

Vegas doesn't currently support audio out to the external
monitor. So, I assume you're talking about Video Capture.
There was a bug in DX8 RC 0 and RC 1 where no audio would
be output to the device. This has been verified as fixed
in the released version of DX8.

I had a similar problem and found if I had more busses than
I had in my MOTU setup I would get that error message.
Check out the "detail" button nest time. It will tell
you "port "x" is not available. Go to File menu,
properties and only put in 9 busses. That's 4 analogue
pair, 4 digital pairs and 1 pair SPDIF. If you intend to
record 24 tracks digital you could add that as weel but you
have to make sure you have them available in the MOTU menu.

You are customizing the DV template, and by doing so you
are not rendering a valid DV file. Use the unmodified NTSC
DV template and DV print to tape should work.
