device not listed in video menu

Hi,

I'm trying to capture video but the device is not listed in video menu. I've tried turning the camera on and off, restarting the program, reconnect to device...
When I start video capture it selects my webcam as the device but that is used by an other program so I get an error message. And I want to use my dv-camera (JVC GR DVP7E). The strange thing is yesterday I could capture without any problem.

I just started having this problem today. It's captured fine until now. I tried re-booting, and also tried using system restore to go back to a month ago. I also reset all settings to default using the hidden menu in the Preferences option.

I'm going to keep searching old posts and see if the solution has already been found ...

I would reccoment unplugging your webcam whenever you are doing a capture, that way the only video device Vegas will find is your DV device and not your webcam. I used to have the same problem all the time, since I have been unplugging my webcam I have nver had that problem again.
