Did I buy Ultimate S or not?

kentwolf wrote on 5/14/2005, 11:32 PM
I just bought Ultimate S plugin ot Vegas 6.

I received a confirmation e-mail of the purchase.

After receiving indication that my order was approved, I then clicked on the Verisign icon/link to return to the Vasst site as prompted thinking I would be sent to some sort of download link. No such thing was found. I was taken back to the *start* of the ordering process.

I keep checking my e-mail thinking I will be sent some download link, unlock code, etc.

I have received nothing.

Did I just send $129 into nowhere?

I am redoing my system partitions NOW here at 1:30 AM, the time I have to work on this, and I seemingly cannot complete my partition changes with the addition of Ultimate S.

Is this the normal way things go on the Vasst site? Does it take "days" to complete? I can buy Vegas, Acid, and Sound Forge *immediately* here on the Sony site.

As I said, my order was approved. I have an order and invoice number...but no Ultimate S.

I go to login to the Vasst, go to "Orders," (I would assume this would be to see the status of one's orders.) and all I get is taken to my profile setup page.

This is the first time I have ever bought anything from the Vasst site. I am reasonably proficient with the internet, however, I have never seen anything like this.

Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks.

wouldn';t it make more sence to e-mail someone there?

I also think that someone asked this a few weeks ago & they just had to wait until monday.

Yes, I suppose. I thought Spot might still be here tonight...

Keep in mind you can use the demo version(which is fully functional till you get your registration code in the email.
Have you downloaded the demo? or is it all used up?

Kentwolf,

Sorry you are having difficulty with this. Ultimate S follows the Sony/SoFo tradition of having a trial that is unlockable so there is no additional software to download or uninstall/reinstall when you decided to purchase a license.

In your conformation email, you should have gotten an unlock key with instructions to download the trial that's on the VASST web site and unlock it with the key. We have been having some problems with the VASST site that has caused some people to get an email with the unlock code missing. We thought this was fixed so please check your conformation email again and see if the unlock key is in it. Once you purchase software from VASST, the email should arrive within minutes and you should be on you way. Sorry if this didn't happen.

When you install Ultimate S, the next to last page of the installer has these instructions:
----- START NEXT TO LAST PAGE OF INSTALL -----
Your VASST Ultimate S installation is complete. If you purchased a license key, use the menu item:

Start > All Programs > VASST Ultimate S > License Installer

This will start the License Installer. Replace the demo key with your permanent one and press the Install button. Then close the License Installer using the Red X button.

For web support see: http://www.vasst.com/ultimate.htm

For email support use: ultimatesupport@vasst.com

Thank you from the VASST Team.
----- END NEXT TO LAST PAGE OF INSTALL -----
If you follow them, it will show you how to unlock your paid version. If you send an email to ultimatesupport@vasst.com someone would have replied to you since several people including Spot, myself, and others would have gotten an email. I didn't see any email from you in my in-box this morning.

I'm just finishing up some changes to the VASST software codebase so that you can unlock all VASST software products when you first run them just like the Sony products do. If you have any ideas on how we can make this process even smoother, just let me know.

[Edit: I was mistaken. There are TWO emails. One to confirm your purchase from Verisign and a second one with the unlock code]

Just to share...

I bought Ultimate S on Friday afternoon and I am still waiting for a key. I guess the demo is fully functional for 2 weeks, so no need to panic. It is a bit odd, these days, to make an online purchase and not get an acknowledgement in a few minutes. I did send an email asking about this and got one reply, but still no key.

The whole Vasst website has always seemed a bit strange and quirky to me, but it is among the best sources for things video, so we live with it as it is. Better would be better.

You should have gotten your key immediately. If you did not, please send an email to the ultimatesupport id. If you don’t email us, no one will know that there is a problem that needs fixing. Since both of you have your real names hidden in the forum, posting here only makes us aware that there is a problem, but we have no way of fixing it without knowing who you are. (sorry)

I positively did not receive a key. The e-,ail ends with "Shopping Cart Purchase #..." That's it.

Also, I already sent an e-mail to the (return) support e-mail addres, but I have thus far received nothing.

KentWolf,

I was mistaken. There are TWO emails. One to confirm your purchase from Verisign and a second one with the unlock code. (my bad) The unlock key is on its way to you.

Please make sure that your ISP is not flagging any email as spam. Sometimes this gets in the way. (we have seen this with other customers) Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Spot & JohnnyRoy:

Thank you both very, very much for getting everything straight...and so quickly!

It is greatly appreciated. I know system glitches happen, and that obviously was the case.

I sure wish I would have bought Ultimate S a week earlier than I did!!

I was doing some slide shows with hundreds of pictures and gettng thier combined duration to match some music tracks...precisely one of the features of Ultimate S.

Ultimate S would have saved me at least 2 hours...possibly more!

Ultimate S is a very, very cool tool that can be a huge timesaver. It also seems to just plain "feel stable." All scripts do not.

Thank you for creating such a terrific product as well as offering outstanding customer service!!!

Thanks!

Thanks for the update, Kent. I'm glad it all worked out well, and glad the application is already saving you time.

Uhhm

I replied to the support email address in JR's message today, and I'm still waiting.

No joy for me yet. Vasstly inefficient so far.

Rex, I personally replied to your emails, twice.
I'd be looking at my spam filter, since you've got a special address set up for VASST.
RexA wrote on 5/15/2005, 8:02 PM
Ok, thanks. Will try to look at things on my end.
RexA wrote on 5/15/2005, 11:25 PM
I got my code tonight. I guess there may have been a problem on my end, although I haven't found something I can identify to fix.

Thanks, Spot, for the multiple attempts to communicate with me. Appologies on the assumtion that it was a problem on my end.

The obtaining an Ultimate S key problem was already solved after a couple tries, but...

Today, I got three confirmation messages about this purchase, sent to the email address I filed when I bought. The message containing my key was sent Saturday morning (Sat, 14 May 2005 08:53:44).
On its way here it passed through a mail server at www7.ikano.com -- today (Wed, 18 May 2005 17:21:42) and ikano.com is Ikano Communications in Salt Lake City, UT.

So it seems the emails were stuck in Utah somewhere for about 4 days. I couldn't find a problem on my end because the problem wasn't on my end. I feel better about my own mail service now.
