Did something change? New error showing on all projects, old and new.

I use Movie Studio 15 all the time and know a lot about it. However, when I went to open it today, I get this error message. It's happening in all my projects. I did nothing new today; I'm just trying to do what I normally do every time I go to use it (open the program). It's not recognizing any the MP4 files I filmed with my camera; even the ones it used to recognize a few days ago. No matter what options I pick, I can't get it to work. I also cannot drop the MP4 files onto the timeline. It gives me a crossout symbol. Another new thing I noticed is that I'm getting more pop up adds, including one when I exit. I never had any when I exited before. Was there some kind of update run that messed things up? I have YouTube channel and need to have this fixed ASAP. Version 15.0 (Build 116). Thanks.

There's not been updates to MS15 for a few years. 17 is the current version. But you may have had a Windows update.

Anyway try a "factory reset" to your MS15 https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

Whilst written for Vegas Pro it also applies to VMS but make sure you clear the cache.

I was able to resolve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling. I dreaded doing that process, thinking I might lose settings, but it went very smoothly. This site remembers my purchases and allows me to redownload them. When I started using Movie Studio again, it actually runs a tad faster. I'm still getting ads when I close now, which means they have changed something.
