Did they fix the 'must resize jpg's first'

Traditionally I have had to resize my jpg's to 900k or less to avoid crashing when doing slide shows. Today I decided to experiment a little with 8c and photo montages. Using Ultimate S I've dropped 400 photos on the time line with motion and transitions and I'm rendering over to M2V @ 30M, 1920x1080.

My photos are 2.5M and up in size (some of them hitting 4M)...... and I'm NOT crashing.

Granted the render isn't done yet... the time line is 51 minutes and I have another 1.5 hours to go.... but it's been going for about 1.5 hours already and I usually experience crashing long before this.

Yup.... they must have fixed the JPG issue. I just rendered the above time line without a single crash!

strange. I've been dropping shots from my still camera (8mp, ~3-5mb in size) on the TL in all versions of vegas 8. Never had a crash because of it either.

I thought you weren't getting crashes...

;-)

"I thought you weren't getting crashes..."

No.... I never said that. I said my crashes were now few and far between.... even less now apparently!

Oh.That's different. Nevermind :-)

This illustrates something I occasionally tell my coworkers - that software eventually trains you not to do things or otherwise shapes your behavior. Vegas would crash for you with certain sized jpegs so you stopped using them and Vegas stopped crashing.

This is how voice recognition is playing out. We use our "VR" voices when we know that's what we're dealing with.
