I did notice that but I'm still wondering what it gains us.
I've never had a problem assigning the channels of a stero pair to two mono tracks. What I have had a problem with since I started with V4 is getting VidCap to capture DV tapes that have the audio track flagged as dual mono. The one camera (Sony PDX10) that recorded audio that way is long gone so it's only of academic interest if they did fix this bug.
On the other hand as I recently discovered from a polyphonic wave file one can assign channels 1,2 and 3,4 etc to stereo tracks in Vegas. That is a big plus for me however this capability has been in Vegas for quite a while, you've just got to dig into it to find it.

To the head of software development at SCS in Madison, it's not just of academic interest. He probably still has his PDX10 (he used to bring it to all SF/SCS events).
So he finally got the audio support he had been begging for.

I still have DSR200, which I occasionally use as fixed audio recorder. As Vegas did not capture its dual mono, I had to go get Scene analyzer.
know where your coming from Mahesh, same reason I did went to Scenalyzer.
The option is good but when you add music you get two tracks as well, which I do not require,so have gone back to the default setting and use the Split Audio script,as I have done in the past
