Difference between Rendering and Save as

Ok, this is the stupid question of the week, but what's the difference with the rendering and the save as options? Both seem to give out the same results.

by default "save as" saves projects, and "render as" is for rendering/saving media files. You can save a project or a file from either one if you want to.
