Difference Masking: "Partner?"

Question: In a tutorial on doing a difference mask; essentially simulating green/blue screen effects without actually have the green/blue screen, one of the steps is to make a track a "Partner" to thus and such track.

I am somewhat familiar with making a track a "child", but I see nothing on making a track a "partner."

In fact, the word "partner" doesn't appear to even be in the help file.

How does one go about making a track a "partner" to another track?

Does "partnering" inherently occur when you create "children" tracks as appropriate?

I am not at my computer right now, so I am simply reading the tutorial.

Thanks!

I didn't write the tutorial, but was doing some difference masking as it was being written, so I read it with great interest. Don't get too hung up on the words. Instead, just click on the parent/child button until you get the tracks to line up as shown in the screen snapshot.

Which is precisely what I was doing. :)

Thanks!

Sry bout that - it was the only way that I could think of describing the relationship between the two tracks.

basically it just means it that it's not a parent or a child but it's on the same level as the other track.

That is an excellent tutorial.

Any chance you could take a look at my multiple Bezier mask post?

Thanks!
