Digital Juice MOV files with Magix Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum

So far, I have not been able to get Magix Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum to play a Digital Juice MOV file. I used an older version of Movie Studio with Digital Juice back in 2010 and they worked fine together then. But now I'm using the latest version of both as of May 25, 2021.

So far, I have tried:

- Movie Studio / Options / Preferences / Deprecated Features / Enable the QuickTime plugin
- Installing Apple Quick Time 7.7.9 and also 7.6 (with removal and reboots after each install)
- Removed Apple Quick Time and tried QuickTime_Alternatative_322.exe. No change.
- Digital Juice offers formats called Apple ProRes, PNG and JPEG. I tried them all but none would import.
- Tried Platinum / Project / Add Media. An error message says "The application does not support this file type."
- Tried dragging each kind of file into the timeline. None would drag in.
- Tried using a conversion tool to convert to other formats, including AVI. So far, I have not found one that will maintain the alpha channel and still be accepted by Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum
- Contacted Digital Juice support. They recommended switching to a different video editor, but they didn't seem to know much about Movie Studio.

Can you tell me how to use Digital Juice animation MOV files (lower thirds, etc) with Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum?

PS - I first posted this question on the Magix website (that looks identical). The thread was closed and I was referred here.

Digital Juice also typically offers MP4. That's what I download from DJ.

ProRes should work with Vegas Pro 18.

PNG requires Apple Quicktime with it turned on as you indicated. That should have worked for the PNG sequence MOV files.

You've still posted in the wrong forum as you're asking about Movie Studio and this the Vegas Pro forum. Movie Studio questions should be posted here:

Thank you jetdv. I have reposted in the Movie Studio forum. You're right that Digital Juice sometimes offers an MP4 option, but not for content that requires the alpha channel for transparency. The file types available for the content I need are:

- Apple ProRes W/Alpha
- Quick Time PNG with Embedded Alpha
- Quick Time JPEG with Separated Alpha

I'll close this thread if I can figure out how. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum.
