dilema with video tracks

This may be a newbie mistake, but I can not find any help to solve this problem. I have upgraded to VMS 10 from 7, and can not veiw any of my added titles. My text and vedio overlay tracts on the time line has turned a darker gray and anything placed on them does not show up over the edited text.

I think you pressed the "solo" button on one track, so it essentially ignores/mutes the other tracks. Look for the exclamation mark at the track header (far left of each track).
