Disable Track FX for specific events

I have a track where most events have a specific look (drop shadow, outline). I use Track FX for this look. But there are a few events that shouldn't have this look, but I don't really want to move them to another track. Is there a way (Vegas-native or a 3rd party plugin) to disable Track FX for specific events? I don't want to animate the FX, as it will get out-of-sync quickly in editing. I want to turn off Track FX for specific events, so if I move the even, it will retain its "off" status.

In a word, no. Track FX affects anything and everything on that track. Settings such as drop shadow are either on or off for the entire track. Track FX positioning via Track FX keyframing can be set along that track's timeline, and if Auto Ripple (All tracks, markers and regions) is used for any event movements on the timeline, Track FX keyframing will also move in sync.

... but I don't really want to move them to another track.

I'm curious as to why not? It's the easiest way to avoid Track FX settings. Often, I have Track FX set for just one video event on the timeline, and Vegas Pro has no shortage of tracks able to be used.

Yeah, would be good if there was an Envelope. Anyway, moving on . . Paste Events Attributes to these Events you want FX-ed.

I just tried it ... Track FX still overrides with Track FX positioning and Glow/Shadow FX settings. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here. I think that all that happens with copy/pasting event FX from one event elsewhere on the timeline to the other event on the Track FX track affects the event but within the Track FX settings. Even using pan/crop on a Track FX event only changes the pan/crop shape within the limitations of the Track FX settings - and with drop shadow/glow still in place around the frame borders.

Oops, I didn’t register the need for Drop Shadow from the Track Fx….
