Not so much I think, but it depends also on the strenght of your processor, used sources and workflow.

WIN 7 will continue to work as long as your hardware work. no need to put W10 on 7years laptop.

Thanks j-v. My processor is a Intel(R) Core i7-3612QM CPU @ 2.10GHz . So it sounds like I will have to trial using Studio Plat without the graphics card to see what impact it will have.

Thanks FayFen. I remember when Microsoft stopped supporting WinXP in favour of Win7, my computer was instantly bombarded with viruses that I had to throw it out. So I assume the same will happen once Microsoft stop supporting Win7. I cant afford a new laptop at the moment, but will only cost $120 to install Win10 on it.

It's your cash Lisa, but you might find that this laptop is in it's final years and you soon need to replace it anyhow.

You better save those 120$ for the new laptop and just update your antivirus wall, and don't open wrong files. Win7 EOL is 14.1.2020 I'm sure the world will still turn and the sun will shine on January 15'th... and the laptop will be fine.

XP EOL was 8 Apr.2014 I run XP until Apr2017 with minor problems and I never update it past SP3, but them my MB died and I had to build new system , So I installed W7.

I tried it on my laptop from signature and VMS Pl 13.
Not a big problem to switch fast that GPU by disabling and later v.v. with the Device Manager in the Control Panel

I saw no problems but all went slower.
