Display problem in FX/Transistions dialog window

YesMaestro wrote on 4/10/2008, 10:12 AM
A weird problem just started happening in V7. When I apply an fx or transition to any clip, the display of the settings that you can adjust when the dialog box opens is enlarged, causing part of the settings to be cut off. You can see what it looks like here:

On the CC effect you see here, the font size is enlarged and I have no access to the High color wheel, the Gamma, or the Offset. All my other programs look fine and nothing was changed on my system. I uninstalled the video driver and reinstalled it but it didn't work. I want to save the uninstall/reinstall Vegas as the last resort.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Paul

Sounds like the window has become resized too small. Move the cursor to the bottom of the FX window and you'll see it change to two horizontal lines. Hold down the left mouse key and pull down and this should resize the window.

Thanks Jack, but it didn't work. This problem happens on all dialog boxes that open up. Even when I put a text preset on the timeline. The area of the Edit, Placement, etc tabs is larger than normal causing parts to be cut off.

have you tried double clicking in the title bar of that window where it says video event?

If that doesn't work I would check the settings in windows for font size also see what font size your internet browser is at.

Have you changed your Windows theme?

Unfortunately none of these worked. The font size is normal and I am still working with the Windows classic theme since I got the system. Oddly enough, about the time this started happening, I remember that in the top blue title bar of the main Vegas window, I got some weird looking characters instead of the name of the project I was working on. I did a shutdown and restart of the system and the problem never happened again. I guess I'm stuck doing the uninstall/reinstall route if I can't get it fixed by the end of the day.

Did you run a virus scan on your machine?
