Distort Fx for Vignetting Correction?

Anybody get/got "barrel distortion"?

Of cause you haven't! You are far, FAR too good a camera-operator or DoP for this? - Aren't you? Well I aint! And sometimes I do get over-enthusiastic with my wide angle lense and get those "drunk", "sleepy" and "nodding-off" lamposts

. .. well, over on the DVinfo site an individual has mentioned that AE uses an "Optics Compensation" Fx . . this was only a short step for me to think that maybe our totally weird Distort Fx could be summoned up to do the same! ! Neat idea? . .Well, anybody used Distort Fx for this "correction" reason? . . .

Waddyah think good people?

Grazie

I'll tell you that I like it some times - barrel distortion that is. I use it to get some wierd shots and angles etc...

hmmm time to get off line - major lightning storm moving in (bout 10 miles out, have a good night :D )

You might try the Panopticum Lenses plugin for Vegas. Won't fix the distortion, but can make it look more natural.

Thanks Spot.

Just experimented with Vegas "Deform" not Distort [ me bad! ] . . Deform has a lot of adjustment and can provide some truly creative options too. I just straightened some lamposts.

Vegas just keeps on surprising me with its amazing tools. I just experimented using Deform on some Text treatments - outrageous!
