Divide by zero when attempting to add AVCHD

BobDeath wrote on 11/15/2011, 10:36 PM
Hello,
I've been very happy with the Vegas product line and have used it for various projects. However, this bug/problem is preventing me from completing a project.

I'm getting an error (see below) when adding an AVCHD (aka MTS) file to project media. Once the error is presented, the Vegas app hangs until I forcefully close it (after waiting a few minutes). Since the DLL that is causing an error (C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\m2tsplug\m2tsplug.dll version 1.0.0.919) is a Sony Vegas DLL, I'm wondering if there is a fix available or work around that I can use?

I've included mediainfo (v0.7.50) export (see below) of one of the files. I also checked my system/application logs (Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate 6.1.7600) and am only seeing related application crash errors (see below).

If you need more information, let me know!

Any advise is appreciated!

I'm not so certain AVCHD is fully supported in 8.0. In particular Panasonic footage is not supported.
You may need to upgrade.

Even using files from a Sony FS100? I'd figure Sony camera would work with Sony software.

"Even using files from a Sony FS100? I'd figure Sony camera would work with Sony software. "

Uhh, the NEX FS100 (nice camcorder!) was introduced fully 2-1/2 years AFTER Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum reached its end-of-life. Does that indicate that you "might" need to upgrade? Or maybe even consider Vegas Pro?

But I'm curious. A $5,000 camcorder and 3 year-old $99 editing software?

Meh, borrowed camcorder. Wish I could afford it. Shoestring budget.

All well. Onward to purchase latest Vegas I guess.

I'm play and experience the YTPMV Shuric Scan is named (scan full music.veg) in Sony Vegas Pro 8.

The files "1.wav, 2.wav, 3.wav, 4.wav, 5.wav, 6.wav, 7.wav, 8.wav, 9.wav, Image4.jpg, Image5.jpg, tPORt - Shuric Scan 1.99crk.wav" not found. You've add files t-PORT - Shuric Scan (Keygen music).mp3, so replace the Video file "The Room.avi" from other video, you click the other videos and follow the messages again and again.

@thvinhnguyn642 You've latched on to a nearly 12 year old thread with what appears to be a different problem.
