Divx rendering problem in VV4?

I just upgraded from Divx 5.02 to 5.03 and now when I render my videos as Divx, they are just black. This didn't happen with Divx 5.02, and I'm sure that I'll end up reinstalling the older version, but I was wondering if anyone had a simular problem and/or a solution/workaround.
I'm making my projects in VV3 LE and rendering them to Divx in VV4 demo because I know vv3 doesn't support divx.

Just a guess, but because MPEG and MP3 output are crippled in the V 4 demo (due to licensing costs), I'm wondering if that might negatively affect DivX rendering (which is a hack of MPEG 4).

Divx 5.02 renders work fine for me in V 3.0c and V 4.

I have the demo version. Can you import mpeg2 files captured from another program into VV4 or DVD? Why do you use DIVx over mpeg2 what is the advantage of it and how do you capture to it using this format. I have an ATI All in wonder card and use my VCR to try a few things. I understand that I can't capture an analog image. But since I have an ATI capture card can I use this with VV4? Instead of having to buy other hardware. This can get really expesive really fast!
