Do uprezzing DVD players uprez 30p? I like the look of 30p more than that of 24p, but I don't want to give up uprezzing by going to 30p if that's an issue.
It seems to me like a DVD player or HD TV with uprezzing capabilities might not be able to tell the difference between 60i and 30p and only upconvert video with a 3/2 pulldown. In this case, 24p would look noticably sharper on an HD TV as the extra lines would be interpolated as compared to 30p which probably would just be line doubled. Is this the case?
Anybody? I have some other related questions as well. If I play back my SD 60i DVDs on one of the 1280x720 HDTVs that seem to be really common now, will it be deinterlaced and converted to an upconverted 1280x720x30P? What is the best final format to release an anamorphic SD DVD in for the best overall playback on all setups? What is the best format to take advantage of the uprezzing DVD/HDTV setups that are becoming more common?
