Do you use the pull down in VMS?

Part of my problem was have the pull down turned off. With my camera software upgrade and turn the pull down back on, all of my issues have been resolved.

Is it crucial to use the pull down with 24P 1920 files? What is the down side of using it?

Pulldown (telecine) is used when encoding 24 fps IVTC to 29.97 NTSC. It blends frames to create new ones.

If you're shooting in PF24 just for DVDs and BDs, you don't need to remove pulldown. But if you primarily gunning for local PC/device playback or the Internet, then you must remove pulldown, or there's going to be ghosting. Vegas Pro removes pulldown for DV AVI, but not for AVCHD or HDV, for that you'd need Cineform NeoSCENE.
