I can confirm, but have no problem with that. For render to new track I use only codecs with less compression and high bitrates to preserve quality because these new track renders are also used for the final rendering.
@Grazie It also doesn't appear in the pre-render (Shift+M) options.
Also when you use the render to new track option, make sure you use a video only codec (or disable audio in the codec). Because unlike to video, audio tracks are added and not overlaying like video tracks.
The advantage of rendering to new track (instead of selective pre-rendering) is that, besides the smooth preview of a complex part of the timeline, is that the rendering to new track can also been used for the final render.
