Docking Problem

I have a problem when trying to drag the Preview window to another part of the screen. As soon as I release the mouse button it instantly pops back into the Docking Area. It has worked properly in the past, but now I cannot make it work. Can anybody help me on this? Thanks in advance.

This may be a silly question, but are you moving the upper left corner of the preview window outside of the docking area that it's docked in? If not, it will simply return to that area since it thinks that's where you want to dock it (that is the docking location is chosen based on where the upper left corner of the window is).

Yes. I have tried dragging the top left of the docking handle from top right to top left of the Preview screen well out of the Docking area but it always drops back down into the Docking area.

If you hold down Ctrl whilst moving any window that would normally dock it will defeat the docking action.

Nope. I have tried holding down Ctl, Alt and Shift while dragging the Preview window out of the Docking area and it still pops back. I am using a dual monitor setup but I don't think that has anything to do with it as it was working satisfactorily that way last week. I thought maybe I was overlooking something simple and basic and somebody would be able to point to the problem, but as this hasn't happened I will add a bit more to the story.

This is a problem I've had all along since havinf Vegas 3&4. One day/week I could undock it, then other times it would not undock. This happens for no apparent reason that I am aware of. I do the undocking exactly the same way each time and have not changed anything as far as settings or options are concerned.

Any help would be appreciated.
