I have 2 analog camcorders. One is a Hi8 and the other just 8mm. I noticed in the manual for the 8mm that the output is 320x240. Does that mean that's the best resolution it will get and when I make a DVD the 320x240 gets streached up to 720 ? The reason I'm asking is, the larger the TV screen is that I view my movie on, the grainier the picture. I know the Hi8 is suppose to be better quality, but it's manual did not list a resolution like the regular 8mm did.
Do you need to move up to DV Camcorders to get the best quality for the finished DVD?
I know it's probably a combination of the camcorder quality, your capture card and of course what you actually do with it once you have it in Vegas, but how much of a difference does it make to go from a analog cam to a dv cam, say like a digital8 ?
Thanks, Paul
