Does anyone get clear mpeg2 in Movie Studio 3?

I have tried to search the database and all the questions that I found like mine went unresolved. Is this a bug in my program or do other MS3 users have this problem. Or do you NOT have this problem? If you can burn.avi files to mpeg2 format in ntsc template on a dvd disc, please let me know

I am using movie studio 3.0 to edit and then I am authoring w/ ulead movie factory 2. I'm capturing via firewire with a sharp mini DV. I canwork with my .avi clips by capturing with movie studio 3, then author/burn them with movie factory 2 into Mpeg2 with dvd ntsc template and they look fine.

However, when I EDIT in ms3 and put ANY text on the page, then render in ms3, I get line break ups with any motion on the screen. The break ups extend throughout the 38 minute video, even though my one title screen lasts only seconds. The preview window looks OK, but when I render, I can see the lines form and the blurry picture, even as the rendering is slowly happening. Then, of course, when the rendered project is finished, it has lines. I have tried saving to different file types and templates, just to test where the problem is.

I have tried changing my clips to upper field in the media pool before I render, but whenever I add text to my other tracks I get bad line break ups.

I can add text before the video, but not overlaying my video. Whenever I overlay anything over video/audio, I get problems with any motion, and a blurry screen.

I am using ME, 256RAM, 886Mhz processor, firewire.

Can anyone help?

I have had no trouble with ScreeenBlaster MovieStudio3. I put the clips in from a DV camera, and after edit render the movie to MPEG2 with no problem. I do the rendering right in MS3. I then use the MPEG2 file to burn DVDs in a Click to DVD program on my Sony computer. After you render, do you look at the MPEG2 file before burning a DVD (to see if the problem is before burning)? You can view the file in Windows Media Player, which should show up any problem.

Yes, I view it in Windows Media player and it's all messed up. I'm glad you responded, it's good to know that it's just me :) or perhaps, my system that's the problem. I've been trying for about two months, with a lot of help from this forum as well as two others, and I'm right on the brink of being able to make my home movies work, but I can't get over this hill, and no one from any of the forums seems to be able to pinpoint the problem. Thanks for trying . . .

Could you post a small MPEG-2 sample somewhere? I could take a look and at least determine whether it's just the playback that's a problem or whether it's the MPEG itself.

Ian I woke this morning to find your request for a post of a rendered clip. Just as soon as I get back from work, I'll try to get one online. I guess the "publish to screenblast" button? I've never posted a clip before.

I hadn't even thought of that! I've never used that feature, but if it works.... I was thinking more of a web or ftp site if you have one. If you can produce a small enough mpeg you can mail it to me at Ian.Gore@fshfc.org.

I tried Screenblast and I tried to e-mail you, but no luck yet. I really appreciate your time, thanks for trying to help. I've never uploaded video before, so it may take me some time. I'll try it some more.
