Does anyone have Panasonic PVDV102 or know anything about this camera? Having Trouble with "printing to tape"

This isn't really a question about VV3....more about my camera...

I recently finished a 4 minute video and am trying to print it to my camcorders mini dv tape. First I tried to "print to tape" from the timeline. When VV3 says to press record on the camcorder after it counts down, my camera won't record anything when I press record on it. The video plays on the camcorder but does not record onto the tape. The only way I can print to tape is by rendering the video in AVI format, and then loading it onto the VV3 capture/print to tape application,as a file.

Does anyone know why my camcorder will not let me "print to tape" manually from the timeline?

Thanks,
Videomonster

I have a PV-DV100 and a PV-DV401 and I have never had any problems printing to tape on either camera. And I know that a lot of the panasonic models are very similar. Might be a problem with your firewire card maybe??

Try PTTing to another cammy as a test -yeah? That might give you an understanding of your card.

"The video plays on the camcorder, but isn't recording." So you are getting DV IN.

With my system,
1. the camcorder must be in camcorder mode, not camera mode. The regular record button only activates the camera.
2. I must use the remote to place the camcorder in "record pause."
3. Activate DV input stream and hit "record pause" again and the camcorder begins recording.

You might also check under your "Transport" tab to see if you can control the camcorder from its submenu.
