In 32 bit yes, but then I also did an upgrade install from Vista, so that may not count 100%. My 7 64 install isn't that old yet, & I've been ironing out other stuff so haven't tried. If it's like most else created in the 32 bit world, I'd suspect many problems would be solved migrating the reg keys from HKLM to the WOW64 section HKLM.

I was with you up until there my friend. I know you're talking about changing something in the registry but that's it.
Perhaps after you try it in 64 bit you'll let me know how it goes please?
Thanks very much,
Randy
I'll wrap some other stuff up I need to do in XP, & try to do it later today.

If it matters, or is of interest at all...
[most of this applies to Vista 64 as well]
7 64 has 2 Windows' System folders, 2 Program Files folders, & the registry is divided up the same way.... The Program Files folders are pretty straightforward, with (X86) for 32 bit code -- the other's for 64 bit. The System folders are reversed from what common sense would tell you -- the 64 named version is actually for 32 bit code.
[BTW registering files is *interesting*... each system folder has it's own regsvr32 app, & you have to be in the right place to use the right one. 1 requires admin level, 1 doesn't. PITA]
Anyway, in the registry you've got 32 bit & 64 bit sections, like the system folders the names are reversed, and they've got various permission settings throughout. A lot of software put's it's keys in the wrong places, or looks to read in the wrong places, or lacks permission to do one or the other or both. I have to run Vegas 9 32 as admin, while 64 I don't -- no matter (1 mouse click added) -- I *think* because of those sort of registry problems.
64 bit works fine with 32 bit code, as long as the 32 bit stuff keeps to itself -- is self contained. Mix the 2, & simplified, the 64 bit code has/wants 64 places to look for things, & 32 of those are missing with 32 bit code. Strictly speaking that's the only real difference -- Microsoft just went ahead and figured if you're nerd enough to run 64 & play with the big boys, we're going to take away some of the nice things you're used to with a 32 bit OS. While 7's much better, those responsible for the Vista 64 beta were regarded as Evil Incarnate! Some small part of their legacy lives on, & personally I'd wonder if it was worth it overall, it this wasn't the last Windows to ship a 32 version... might as well get the transition over with while I've got XP to rely on.

Not At All...
For some reason copying the keys from XP's registry to 7 64 won't work with my old version of SF or the plugin. Waiting for support to email me activation codes to see if that will work -- odd since I haven't installed/activated either for maybe a year or so, & I'm getting the response: Too Many Activations... AFAIK that only occurred if you did a bunch of activations in short order, but then 1st time copying reg keys didn't work either. And the SF About dialog identifies 7 as XP? The plugin does seem to work fine though.
At any rate, wouldn't be at all surprised if it went into hiding on you before -- such is life. :-)
