Does this take as long on yours?

I have a Scene Selection Menu with 10 thumbnails representing chapters.

I am double clicking on each to set its out point to the beginning of the next chapter, so that it plays just one chapter and returns to the Scene Selection Menu - a good feature ....

But, having reset the outpoint with the yellow triangle I click the "Back to Parent" arrow at the top, to go back to the Scene Selection Menu - the screen goes black and it is 57 seconds before the Menu reappears. (I stop watched it!)

The project is on an external drive - working on Vaio Laptop P4 1.6Ghz.

Is this a common experience?

I wouldn't count on the preview feature of DVDA to behave exactly like a DVD in all circumstances. To be sure, burn things onto an RW and see if you have the same issue.

Thanks Scott - it's not a playback issue, but an editing concern within DVDA.

The 57 secs wait happens after I've double clicked on a chapter thumbnail to open up the clip timeline, moved the out point, then clicked to return to the parent menu.

There must be some process going on to cause this delay - if I knew what it was and which HDs or memory are involved, I thought I may be able to change settings to improve things.
