Does this type of script exist?

I seriously doubt this type of script exists..but I wanted to ask anyway.....
Here is my problem:
I own a JVC SR-VS30U deck I sometimes use for capture (trying to save wear on cameras)...this deck is known for inducing one frame mosaic-type defects in the captured video. Hunting these down is time consuming..especially on long projects. Sure would be nice if there was a "glitch" finder (something like Sound Forge has for audio). This is probably just wishfull thinking.....

Can't actually FIND them but Excalibur can quickly and easily FIX them once you find them

Yes..frame fix is nice...just wish I could use something to scrub the timeline for these errors :-)

You might try the freeware version of Scenalyzer (not ScLive, but the original Scenalyzer). It is at www.scenalyzer.com.

This product will look at an existing AVI file, scrub through it, and find "scene changes" based on an optical scene detection algorithm. If you have a frame that is badly glitched, it might find it.

What I would do is use this product to create new AVI files (it will create one file for each scene). Set the sensitivity to maximum (so it will find more scenes). Put these files on a track above or below your main track. Use shortcut keys to move ahead one scene at a time. If you see a glitch, use Excalibur to fix it (change to the track that has your original AVI before you fix).

Not perfect, but it will let you "scrub" a lot faster.

Interesting idea/process John...as I watch Scenalyzer report these suspect glitches during capture....thanks

Great idea, John. It's been so long since I even looked at the original Scenalyzer that I had forgotten all about that.
