My wheel functions as expected in everything except V8. I got's to have it, is there an option in V8 somewhere I'm overlooking?
Thanks very much,
Randy
my wheel does the same thing it works but you have to whiz it really fast to get the zoom to work (very annoying) it does the same thing in windows 7 ( the mouse is the Microsoft natural laser 6000) if I plug in my old standard Logitech it work fine but my wrist yells and whimpers like a bum Lamb... :-) I am going to open a trouble ticket today..
I didn't have to do anything to get my Microsoft laser mouse to work in V8.0c. It expands/contracts/moves left/moves right, and maybe other stuff that I don't know about yet.

I'm surprised you get it to work so easily. A few months ago I bought that mouse and I had to return it because there was no way it would work zooming in and out in the Vegas timeline, in Vista 64, not even Win 7.
also tried a basic logitec wired USB mouse worked good and as expected..
I opened a ticket with SCS and when I tried to post it I got a message that Vista 64 is not a supported OS.. that makes no sence since they were so boastfull about Vegas 8.1 what gives...

My mouse will expand the timeline horizontally and move it back. It will also move the entire timeline back and forth. If it zooms (don't need the zoom with a 32" monitor) I am not sure if there is some trick to get that to work. I will play with it tomorrow some and see what happens. All of these neat things tend to overload my senses.

I have the Logitech MX revolution and all buttons program as normal, wheel free-spins or locks as normal, expands the time line just fine.
It seems that Logitech is the best thing to go with judging from the above comments... as above, I didn't have to do anything to get the wheel to expand the time line at all. It just works that way.
It's programmable... they all pretty much are. It's a nice mouse. You can program the buttons so they work differently with each program that you have. The top button behind the wheel for example is programmed to SPLIT in vegas, but to PLAY time line in Adobe Audition. Push the top wheel left or right in Vegas and they're programmed for J, K, L (one of the side buttons is programmed as the K).
Push the wheel down and it will shift to FREE spin... push it again and it becomes a normal click-stop wheel At the same time, the wheel left/right movement is programmed for timeline zoom in adobe audition.
Best mouse I've ever had.... also the most expensive though.

I had this mouse for a few days and ergonomically speaking it was excellent, but I had to exchange it twice until I returned it because it kept having transmission hiccups, the pointer would freeze on me for a split second, which happened about four times every hour. It may not be a lot, but is totally unacceptable for a mouse this expensive.
After noticing this with the receiver plugged into different USB ports in my PC, front and rear, I plugged it into an extension cord so that the receiver would be about one feet away from the mouse, and I still had the hiccups. Perhaps I may have some electronics that interfere with the signal, but I'm not at the NASA command center, there's the computer, a home theater and that's it. I wish this mouse would work flawlessly, in which case I would be willing to spend that amount of money.
