Dont build waveform - possible?

I'm importing vast amounts of M2t footage for logging, viewing and selecting.

I do not need waveform data at this point, and it takes a long time to build them. Have selected "Build only visible events", but the real question is:

Is there a way to totally ignore waveform data on intial timeline construction?
We can rebuild the waveforms when we need them.

I do click cancel on each addition to the timeline, but can't I just ignore that data altogether?

Yes, you can deselect it from the View menu. Downside of it is this deselets the Thumbnails at the same time.

Are you using V7? I recall that in V6 it seemed to take forever to bring the m2t clips up to the timeline, and my system would crash at about 80+ clips. V7 doesn't have that issue, thankfully.
