Double click opens in trimmer

I have checked off that preference, but veg files are still opening on timeline rather than trimmer.
Anybody else experiencing this?

strange.. i just tried & it works just fine for me: with it checked they open in trimmer. unchecked opens on timeline.

I think that preference relates to media rather than vegs. Does double clicking on a video or audio clip open the Trimmer?

Yes of course Peter, veggies don't open in trimmer with a double click.
